Department of Educational Administration


The focus of the Department is on training and research in educational management. It conducts programmes for both institutional heads and area level officers. In view of the capacity building of massive number of institutions, this Department has designed an innovative, multi-channeled distance learning system involving interactive television. Prof. Kumar Suresh

Professor and Head

M. Phil in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University; Ph.D. in Federal Studies from the Centre for Federal Studies, New Delhi; Diploma with Suma cum Laud (High Distinction) in federalism, decentralization and conflict transformation from the Institute of Federalism, University of Fribourg, Switzerland; published research papers, monographs and books on the theme of policy response to diversity, multiculturalism and inclusion, federalism and multilevel governance, human rights education etc.; served as co-editor and as a member of the editorial committee of Indian Journal of Federal Studies, one of the lead journals in the specialized area of Federal Studies; contributed a large number of papers in national and international seminars and conferences; delivered more than thirty invited lectures in national and international programmes including Academic Staff Colleges of different universities in India; served as member of different expert committees and advisory boards of universities and institutions including the University Grants Commission, Institute of Open Learning, Al-Mustafa International University, Iran to its India Branch etc; association with a number of national and international projects and competence development/ training Programmes sponsored by international agencies including the Forum of Federations, Canada, GTZ and the Bergoff Foundation for Conflict Studies, Germany; visited Switzerland, Canada Srilanka and Nepal in different international academic programmes; a number of Ph.D. and M. Dr. Vineeta Sirohi

Professor

Professor Vineeta Sirohi is a Professor in the Department of Educational Administration at the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi. Currently, she also holds the position of Chairperson, Steering Committee M.Phil-Ph.D Programme of NIEPA. She is a member of Editorial Board of the Journal of Educational Planning and Administration of NIEPA. Awarded with Silver Medal in Post-Graduation (Psychology), she holds M.Phil. and Ph.D degree in Psychology, M.Ed., NET in Education, PG Diploma in Educational and Vocational Guidance and Counselling (NCERT), PG Diploma in Higher Education, and PG Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations. She has 30 years of experience in teaching, research, training, curriculum and material development, coordination of projects and programmes, administration and counselling, including 12 years of experience in Teacher Education, she also held the position of the Head, Department of Pre-Service Teacher Education. A National awardee for innovative research paper in All India competition on research in innovative experiments and practices in teaching (NCERT), she presented several research papers in national and international conferences and authored many articles and research papers published in reputed journals. Conducted and reviewed several international and national research studies on skill development and TVET. As Country Expert, she contributed to a major UNESCO Research Study on School to Work Transition in Asia and Pacific, and a study on Curriculum and Skills in South Asia and South East Asia sponsored by Results for Development Institute Washington, DC. Recently, completed an All India Study on Involvement of Teachers in Non-Teaching Activities and its Effect on Education sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. She is currently, leading a National Research Project on Skill Formation and Employability: A Study of Youth in India. She is Member Training Advisory Board, CBSE; Member, Governing Council SCERT, Delhi; Member, Executive Committee SCERT, Delhi; Member, Recruitment Rules Committee, SCERT, Delhi; Member of the Editorial Team of Indian Journal of Vocational Education PSSCIVE (NCERT); Member of the Institute Advisory Board, PSSCIVE (NCERT). She is also consulted by various State, National and International organizations such as SCERT, MHRD, NCERT, NIOS, CBSE, UNESCO, World Bank and ILO, UNICEF, UNDP, FICCI, CII. Dr. Anshu Srivastva

Associate Professor

Dr. Anshu Srivastava is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Administration. She graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi and went on to pursue her MA, MPhil and PhD from University of Delhi. She taught in the department of Political Science, Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi for more than a decade. Within the broad area of interest in politics of development, her key areas of research have been in gender and class politics. In past few years her research engagement has been with policies and governance through the politics of the new middle class in contemporary India. On similar lines, she has engaged with some of the policy issues in Indian Higher Education through the lens of educational administration.

Dr. V. Sucharita

Assistant Professor

PhD (Anthropology) from Hyderabad Central University; Masters (gold medalist) and M.Phil in anthropology also conferred by the same university. She was awarded NCERT Doctoral Fellowship for her PhD work on anthropology of education. Her PhD research work specifically was in the area of school culture and education. Prior to joining NUEPA, she was working at Centre for Public Policy, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore in various research projects. She was also involved in co-ordinating the Mid-Career Training Programme for IFS officers. She has published articles in journals and presented papers in national and international conferences. Her research interests include privatization of school education, school culture, educational management, gender and development, and education of the disadvantaged.
